If you’re looking for the original campaigns like Red War, War Mind, and Osiris, you can’t just walk straight into them anymore. In New Light, they’re buried in a text option with an old yet familiar character.

The game, though, doesn’t bother to explain that anywhere.

After completing the new intro mission in New Light, you now get thrown straight into random strikes and missions, rather than moving into any particular campaign or story.

That’s particularly annoying for brand-new players, as skipping the early campaign missions means you won’t get explicit explanations on how to use class or ultimate powers.

Destiny 2: How to Start the Story (Red War)

To play through the earlier story content with your new character, just head to the Tower and talk to Amanda Holliday. She will give you the quests to start those campaigns.

Hopefully, the developers will fix this issue in an upcoming patch and make it more clear that Amanda now offers all the base-game story content so new players don’t get lost in a random loop of killing and looting.
